En 1997, fue elegido en la revista holandesa rollings stones como el cantante de hip hop más influyente.
En 1999, el “MTV: 100 Greatest Videos Ever Made” incluyó al video del tema “California Love” en la posición número 2.
En 2002, fue introducido en el “Hip Hop Hall Of Fame”.
